Rishab Shetty’s much anticipated film ‘Kantara 2’ is likely to be officially launched on the 27th of November. Though the makers have not officially declared anything about the launch, sources say the film will be launched in a grand style.
‘Kantara 2’ is a prequel of ‘Kantara’ which was released last year. The film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films, while Rishab Shetty is the writer-director. ‘Kantara’ was released last year and went on to become a blockbuster. The film which was made on a budget of 16 crores went on to garner 400 crores at the box-office.
After the success of the film, Vijay Kumar had announced that a prequel or sequel is in the offing. ‘We are very much elated with the response to ‘Kantara’ and the company will soon start developing either a prequel or sequel to the film. We definitely have plans for ‘Kantara 2’ but there’s no timeline’ said Vijay Kiragandur in an interview.
The film was officially announced earlier this year and the script pooja was held on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi this year. For the last few months, the team is busy with the pre-production and the now the shooting for the film is all set to start soon. Rishab Shetty has undergone physical transformation for the film. He is said to have learnt horse riding for the film.
The cast and the crew of the film is strictly kept under wraps. However, music composer Ajaneesh Lokananth and cinematographer Aravind Kashyap will be continuing in the prequel also.
