Naagu in search of a bride; a film based on real incidents

Kannada, News

One of the main problems that this generation is facing, many young men both from rural as well as urban areas are unable to find brides for marriage. Based on this contemporary social situation, director Raj Karthik alias RK has made a film titled ‘Naaguge Vadhu Bekagide’.

The film produced under the banner of Sri Guru Raghavendra Kannada Cinemas, has been written and directed RK. Dattu Poojari and Sonika Somanna play the male and female leads in the film.

Recently, the film’s title, trailer and songs were released in an event in Bangalore. Nagalakshmi Chowdhary, Chairperson of the Karnataka Women’s Commission, officially launched the trailer and songs, while director Chetan Kumar unveiled the title.

Speaking about the film, ‘Off late many young men are finding it difficult to get married. The family of the bride expects the groom to have a government job. They also don’t want the parents of the groom to live with the bride and the groom. Another demand is that the groom should own a house or plot in Bangalore. Keeping these realities in mind and inspired by several situations I have personally witnessed, I wrote the story of this film. It is based on real-life incidents’ said RK.

The shooting of the film has already been completed and the post-production is under progress. The team is making efforts to release the film next month.

Apart from Dattuu Poojari and Sonika, Rekha Das, Apoorvashree, Chitral Rangaswamy, Jayaram and others are a part of this film. Sri Suresh is the music composer, while Nagaraj is the cinematographer.
