Actress Shruthi has acted as a mother in numerous films till now. For the first time, the actress will be seen in the title role who will be fighting for her family in a new film called ‘Mother’ which was launched on Wednesday at the Bande Mahakali Temple in Bangalore.
Well known director Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar sounded the clap for the first shot of the film, while actor Vinod Prabhakar was the chief guest at the event.
‘Mother is being produced by Aarathi and K Sathish Chandra under Shanthu Universal Pictures and is written and directed by Rakesh Somanna. U Ashwin the cinematographer, while Anjan Poojari is the music composer.

Director Rakesh Somanna says the audience has not witnessed Shrutthi in a character like this before in her previous film. Speaking about the same, ‘’Mother’ is a very powerful story. It revolves around an illiterate woman from Mandya who fights to protect her family. Audiences have never seen Shruti in a role like this before. She appears in a rugged and intense look in the film. The film will be shot in and around Mandya in a span of 35 days’ said Rakesh.
Shruthi said that every film is special, but this character is very meaningful. ‘When I heard the story from the director, I found it very interesting. They had a strong desire to do something new. The director told me he would ensure that my 175th film remains memorable in my career. I told him, not only me, but to make sure the producers are also happy and successful. The reason I continue to get work in the industry is because of producers’ said Shruthi.
The actress disclosed that she never attended a workshop in a career spanning four decades. ‘In all these years, I had never attended a workshop for any film, but for this project I specifically requested one because there are a lot of newcomers in this film. So, it is very necessary to do a workshop which would help everyone’ said Shruthi.
‘Mother’ stars Shruthi along with Chiranjeevi, Prasanna Shetty, Archana Hegde, Abhay Puneeth, Geethanjali, Himashree and several others.
