The two-part cinematic series ‘Ramayana’, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, has first look of the film. The first look has drawn global attention as Ranbir Kapoor appears in the role of Lord Ram.
The first teaser of ‘Ramayana’ released simultaneously worldwide, focuses on a legendary figure of Ram who has lived in people’s hearts for over 5,000 years. The story is based on the sacred writings of Sage Valmiki.
When chaos spreads across the earth Lord Vishnu incarnates as Ram in human form to restore balance. Opposing him is the invincible and immortal demon king Ravana, whose pride and thirst for revenge shake the world. Unaware of his ultimate destiny, Ram lives as the beloved prince of Ayodhya, wishing to lead a noble life with his wife Sita and his loyal brother Lakshmana. However, fate leads him into exile, setting the stage for a fierce battle with Ravana.
The film’s highlight is the face-off between two of Indian cinema’s most influential actors, Ranbir Kapoor and Yash. They are joined by Sai Pallavi (Sita), Sunny Deol (Hanuman) and Ravi Dubey (Lakshmana). Oscar-winning composers Hans Zimmer and A R Rahman are composing the music for the film.
‘Ramayana’ is being jointly produced by Prime Focus Studios, eight-time Academy Award-winning DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. ‘Ramayana: Part 1’ will release worldwide during the Diwali festival in 2026. The second part is currently in production and is scheduled for release during Diwali 2027.
