‘Sandalwood King’ Shivarajkumar has said that no one from the Bharatiya Janatha Party had invited him for campaigning in the forthcoming Assembly elections and if anyone had invited him, he would have definitely campaigned for them.
Shivarajkumar on Thursday campaigned for former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the Varuna Constituency. V Somanna who is contesting against Siddaramaiah took potshots at the actor saying that, ‘I have known Dr Rajkumar’s family for over 40 years. Recently, I had built a hospital in memory of Late Puneeth Rajkumar in Bangalore. But Shivarajkumar is campaigning for Siddaramaiah. I don’t know why he is doing this’ said Somanna.
BJP Member of Parliament, Prathap Simha also tweeted against Shivarajkumar for campaigning for Siddaramaiah.

Speaking regarding this, ‘actually nobody from the Bharatiya Janatha Party invited me for campaigning in the elections. If anyone would have invited, I would have definitely backed them. Siddaramaiah invited me to be a part of campaign. I didn’t know Somanna was competing against Siddaramaiah’ said Shivarajkumar.
‘If I am not campaigning for someone, that doesn’t mean I don’t have respect for them. I have not talked ill against anyone. I can also talk, but I don’t want to talk. There is rivalry everywhere. Sudeep who is a dear friend of mine is campaigning for BJP. That doesn’t mean we are rivals. I have a huge respect for him. We love everybody. There is no enmity here. This is not a war, but a competition’ said Shivarajkumar.
When asked whether this star attraction would convert into votes, ‘it is not in my hands. When people come and ask me to campaign, I just do my job. I don’t go and ask whether my campaigning would work for them or not? This is just like doing films. I simply do my work and can’t expect every film of mine to be a winner.
