Karnataka Chalanachitra Patrakartara Sangha inaugurated

Veteran director and Padmashree awardee Dr Girish Kasaravalli and veteran journalist Dr Vijayamma on Monday (16th January 2023) inaugurated the Karnataka Chalanachitra Patrakartara Sangha in Bangalore.

The Karnataka Film Journalists Association which represents the Kannada film journalists and critics is and Association registered under the Co-operative Societies act is headed by veteran journalist B N Subramanya with Chetan Nadiger being the working president and Sunayana Suresh as the Vice-president.

Formation of an association for film journalists exclusively were on cards for a long time. Now the KCPA will be serving for the betterment of Kannada film journalists.

The association was inaugurated and the logo was launched in an event attended by many presidents of the Kannada film industry as well as Journalists.

Speaking on this occasion Dr Vijayamma recalled the days of her participation in the Karnataka Patakartara Parishath, a body film journalists in the late 70s and 80s.

‘Many good films like ‘Samskara’, ‘School Master’, ‘Pinki Yelli’ and others didn’t come to limelight due to lack of publicity. Many violent films gained popularity misinterpreting Kannada film industry in front of other states’ said Dr Girish Kasaravalli.

The committee of Karnataka Chalanachitra Patrakartara Sangha comprises journalists from Print, Visual as well as Digital media. Kannada Screens wishes the newly formed Karnataka Chalanachitra Patrakartara Sangha a bright future ahead.
