Actress Meghana Gaonkar who recently earned a PH. D in Cinema and Literature is all set to shine on the silver screen once again with a challenging role. The actress will be seen in a spiritual guru character in ‘Lambodara 2.0’, directed by ‘Simple’ Suni and starring Anil Shetty in the lead.
Recently, the actress participated in the shooting of the film and the team has disclosed that Meghana Gaonkar will be seen playing a distinctive Sadhvi character. The actress has opened up about how surprisingly close the role is to her real-life personality.
Sharing details about her character, Meghana said, ‘I play a spiritual guru in the film. Therefore, the Sadhvi constantly speaks about happiness, life and inner peace. I was able to connect completely with the words she speaks and the thoughts she expresses. Over the past few years, I too have found a certain sense of contentment and inner peace in my personal life. So, the dialogues in the film came very naturally to me. Perhaps director Suni observed my real personality closely and chose me for this unique role’ says Meghna.
Speaking about the character’s costume and look, Meghana explained, ‘we had several discussions about the look and costumes. We studied photographs of real-life Sadhvis from across the country and decided to give the character a contemporary look suited to the present day. Instead of dressing her in the traditional white attire, we opted for outfits in light saffron shades. With crimped hair and natural makeup, we designed the look to make the character appear fresh and appealing to today’s younger generation as well’ says the actress.
‘Lambodara 2.0’ is a science-fiction movie and marks Anil Shetty’s introduction as a lead actor in the film industry. Bollywood actor Kunal Kapoor is also making his Kannada film debut with this movie. Bollywood actress Sachi Bindra is the female lead. The film also features Malavika Avinash in a prominent role. Veer Samarth has composed the music, while Santhosh Rai Pathaje is the cinematographer.
