It’s been nearly two years since actress Bhavana Menon of ‘Jackie’ fame was seen in a Kannada film. The last film the actress did was ‘Case of Kondana’, where she played a prominent role. After that though there were news that she will be playing a major character in Shivarajkumar and Dhananjaya starrer ‘Uttarakaanda’, the film did not take off due to various reasons.
Now the actress is back with a new film. This time the actress has played a prominent role in Niranjan Sudhindra starrer ‘Spark’. Recently, the team held a press conference and officially announced that Bhavana has played a role in the film. Bhavana shared some interesting details about her character.
‘There is a spark not just in the title ‘Spark’, but also in the story. Every character in the film has that spark. That is one of the reasons I agreed to be part of the movie. I usually take up a film only when I find the script challenging. When the director narrated this character to me, I immediately realised that I had never played a role like this before. I am grateful to the director for offering me such an opportunity. After a long time, I have got a role that brings out my potential as an actress. The producer has been extremely dedicated, coming to the sets every day and actively participating in the shoot’, Bhavana said.
Bhavana also praised the film’s lead actor, Niranjan Sudhindra, saying that he is not only handsome but also a rare multi-talented performer who can act, dance and perform fight sequences exceptionally well. She described him as a promising hero in the Kannada film industry.
Director Mahantesh Handral said that he had carefully selected actors suited to each character. He revealed that Bhavana plays Vaidehi, a lawyer who enters the story during an incident as an associate who assists the journalist protagonist.
‘Spark’ is being by Dr Garima Avinash Vashista and is written and directed by Mahantesh Handral. The film stars Niranjan Sdhindra, ‘Nenapirali’ Prem, Rachana Inder, Dharmanna, Vijay Chendur, Ganesh Rao Kesarkar and others in prominent roles. Swamy J Gowda is the cinematographer, while Sachin Basrur has composed the music for the film.
