French actor Djilali Rez Kallah who works mainly in Hollywood films has made his debut in Sandalwood with a new film called ‘My Hero’ being directed by debutante Avinash Vijaykumar.
‘My Hero’ was launched in Bangalore on Tuesday. Actors Dattanna, Prakash Belawadi, Niranjan Deshapande, Vedik Kaushik were present during the occasion.
Djilali plays an Army veteran in the film, who comes to India for a reason. There he meets a boy who is from an oppressed community. How he reunites the boy with the family forms the crux of the film.
Avinash who has learnt in Anupam Kher Institute and film making course in San Francisco Film School says that film making was his passion always. ‘This is my first film. The film revolves around various social problems concerning the society. Western films have always projected India is a poor country. After this film, the perspective of the West about India will definitely change’ says Avinash.
Avinash says the film talks about caste, racism that haunts the world. The first time director says that the film is a universal film and will be liked by one and all irrespective of the language. He wants to release the film in multiple languages in Kannada, Hindi and English. The shooting for the film start from February 24th in Chikamagalur and will in continue in Madhya Pradesh and America. The team intends to complete the film by May in a 40 day schedule.
‘My Hero’ is being produced by Avinash Vijaykuamr under AV Studios. Gagan Badheria is in charge of music, while Kumar Gowda is the cinematographer. There will be three songs in the film, out of which one will be completely in English.
