It’s been five years since a film directed by Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar was released. After ‘India vs England’ the senior director is back with a new film called ‘America America 2’. The film which is been in the making for the last few years is finally complete and is wating for a release.
Meanwhile, Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar officially announced the film by releasing a new motion poster and introducing the cast and crew. Nirup Bhandari, Pruthvi Ambaar and Shanvi Srivatsav play prominent roles in the film. been completed. The film is based on a novel by Sahana Vijaykumar. Speaking about the film, ‘new stories are born from old stories. My film ‘America America’ which was released 30 years back was a huge success. This time, I have directed another film with the same title, called ‘America America 2’. However, this is not a sequel to the original. The earlier story was different and this one is entirely different’ says Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar.
Like the original, this film also revolves around three main characters, ‘but they are not the same characters. There is no Surya, Bhoomi, or Shashank here. These are completely new roles. We can call it a woman-centric film. Audiences will get to see Shanvi Srivastava in an exceptional role. Nirup Bhandari and Pruthvi Ambaar have also delivered remarkable performances’ says Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar.
Nirup Bhandari says he decided to do the film the moment when he heard its title. ‘I still vividly remember watching the original ‘America America’ in a theatre thirty years ago. Although this isn’t a continuation of that film, the story and the characters in this movie are just as memorable. My role in the film is very special’ said the actor while thanking Nagathihalli Chandrashekar for giving him the opportunity.
Actress Shanvi Srivastava says in her 13-year film career, she has never played a role like this before. ‘I sincerely thank the director for giving me such an incredible character. The performances of my co-stars have been outstanding, and the work of the technicians has also been exceptional’ said the actress.
Pruthvi Ambaar lauded the enthusiasm of Nagatihalli and said that he was an inspiration to the cast and crew of the film. ‘Even today, ‘America America’ remains in people’s hearts because of its songs, visuals and dialogues. It is a great privilege for me to act in a film with the same iconic title’ said Pruthvi.
‘America America’ marked the debut of music director Mano Murthy. The music director has composed four songs for this film also. Nakul Abhyankar is in charge of the background music. S K Rao is the cinematographer, while Crazy Minds Sri is the editor.
