If everything had gone right, then senior director C Sundar was supposed to direct Rajinikanth in his 173rd film. But after the official announcement, Sundar backed out of the project citing various reasons. Cibi Chakravarthy stepped into his shoes. Now the director has been changed once again. This time Ashwath Marimuthu, best known for the films ‘Oh My Kadavule’ and ‘Dragon’ will be directing Rajinikanth’s forthcoming film.
The film’s title and first-look poster were officially launched during a traditional pooja ceremony held in Chennai. The movie has been titled ‘Dharman’ and is produced by Kamal Haasan and R Mahendran under Raj Kamal Films International.
One of the highlights of the film is, for the first time in his career, Rajinikanth is playing the role of a doctor in this film. Alongside Rajinikanth, Simran and Raashi Khanna play prominent characters in the film. Yogi Babu has also been roped for a key role in the film after ‘Jailer’ and ‘Jailer 2’.
The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while Niketh Bommi is the cinematographer. The film will be distributed by Red Giant Movies.
