Shivarajkumar has acted in a couple of Telugu films including ‘Gauthamiputra Shatakarni’ and ‘Peddi’. For the first time, Shivarajkumar will be seen as a full-fledged hero in a Telugu film and this time the veteran actor will be seen in the role of former MLA and Communist leader Gummadi Narasiah in his biopic.
‘Gummadi Narasiah’ was launched in Telangana recently. While, Shivarajkumar’s wife Geetha Shivarajkumar sounded the clap for the first shot of the film, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy switched on the camera. Nandini, wife of Mallubhatti Vikramarka handed over the bound script of the film to the director. The launch was attended by the cast and crew of the film apart from various political dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, ‘I am very much happy to portray such a simple and honest person on screen. I thank director Parameshwar and producer N Suresh Reddy for giving me the opportunity. My father (Dr Rajkumar) was also like Gummadi Narasaiah and has served a lot to the mankind. He was always telling us to live for mankind and not for ourselves. Recently, I met Narasiah at his residence and felt like that I was talking to my father. I took blessings from him for portraying his character. I am learning Telugu for the film and I will be dubbing for my character in the film. This film will be an inspiration for all the political leaders’ said Shivarajkumar.
Gummadi Narasiah said that there are lot of changes to happen and the first change must happen from us. ‘Firstly, we should stop deceiving others. I am not a big leader. I am also a normal human being like you. Instead of glorifying me, this film will project my belief and work. Parameshwar has done thorough research from my childhood till now and has written the script. I am very happy that Shivarajkumar is portraying my character. I hope this film will bring in a big change in the society and the system’ said Gummadi Narasaiah.
The first look of ‘Gummadi Narasaiah’ is already released. The film will be shot in Telugu and dubbed to Kannada later.
