Sandalwood actor Shivarajkumar’s most anticipated pan-Indian film ‘Ghost’ is all set to hit the screens on the 19th of October. This is Shivarajkumar’s 126th film and already a lot of hype and expectations have surrounded the film. The actor says that he opted for this film because of its different style and to break the monotony.
Speaking about the film in a press conference organized at his residence in Bangalore recently, ‘I liked the title first. I immediately gave a nod to act in this film. The film was announced in just three days and the film was launched within three months. I liked the concept very much. This film is very different from the rest of my films. I gave a nod for not only a change, but also to break the monotony. I have three shades in the film’ says Shivarajkumar.
The actor says that he has not done such a kind of role in his career. ‘This is an intelligent film. There must be fear in the society and the system. But the fear is slowly fading out. The film talks about the missing fear and why is it necessary in the current times says Shivarajkumar.
One of the highlights of the film is however the younger look of Shivarajkumar, which has been done through de-aging technology. Shivarajkumar says that his mother Parvathamma Rajkumar should have been alive today to see it. ‘It was a unique experience. It was difficult to laugh or talk loudly as they had paster small plasters on my face. Except for what Srini has showed me, I have not seen the de-aged portions till now. I just saw it today. It took my memories back to ‘Anand’ and ‘Rathasapthami’ days. I wish my mother would have see it. She was the main force behind me back then’ remembers Shivarajkumar.
The actor is currently basking in the success of Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer’ where he is seen in a cameo role. When asked whether he would show ‘Ghost’ to Rajinikanth, ‘just because I know them, I don’t want to make them obligated. I don’t want to take advantage of the friendship. Firstly, we have to check their availability. I unnecessarily don’t want to trouble them. If everything goes well, I would be delighted to show the film’ says Shivarajkumar.
The ’Hatrcik Hero’ reaffirms that the ‘Ghost’ franchise will continue. ‘’Ghost’ will definitely continue. In fact, Anupam Kher who is making his debut in Kannada has already said already warned (in a lighter vein) us, if the sequel is not made. This film will end in such a way it will make a good continuation for the sequel. It will take off from where the first part ends. ‘Ghost 2’ will be a mixture of both prequel and sequel …’
Many big films including Shivarajkumar’s ‘Ghost’, Vijay’s ‘Leo’, Raviteja’s ‘Tiger’ and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Bhagavanth Kesari’ is releasing on the occasion of Dasara. Shivarajkumar says there is no competition. ‘It’s quite natural to release big films during the holiday season. There is no competition amongst us and I wish all the films a success’ concludes the actor.
