Tollywood actor Vijay Devarakonda is looking forward for the release of his latest pan Indian film ‘Kushi’ on the 01st of September. Meanwhile, the actor who had a worst failure in the form of his last release ‘Liger’ says he is not all afraid of failures, but it really hurts when a film of his performs badly at the box-office.
Speaking about during the trailer of ‘Kushi’ in Hyderabad on Wednesday, the actor opened about his career, profession and other aspects of his career.
On the failure of his last film, ‘When a film doesn’t perform well at the box-office, it definitely hurts. I have experienced many flops in my career and ‘Liger’ is not the first one. I have also had many hits before also. I will continue to experience both hits and flops because we are all trying to tell some stories ultimately. I am not afraid of failure. Even though it hurts when a film doesn’t work, it doesn’t stop me from trying again and again. I am not afraid of stumbling’ says the actor.
On the superlative ‘The Vijay Devarakonda’ as seen in the posters of ‘Kushi’ the actor said, ‘I like the name given to me by parents. Before anyone gives me a superlative like a ‘Rowdy Star’ or a ‘South Sensational Star’, I decided to be just called ‘The’ Vijay Devarakonda, whiche means ‘One and the only’’ said the actor.
When asked about reaching to pan Indian audiences through his films, ‘whenever epics like Ramayana or Mahabharata are re-enacted on the big screen, they were loved by people all over the world. But now it has become easy to cross languages and borders. I feel fortunate to be a part of this industry at a moment when it is seen as Indian cinema instead of being seen as Bollywood or south film industry’ replied Vijay Devarakonda.
When asked about taking acting in other language projects, the actor said he is not ready for now. ‘I don’t have a good grasp on any other language yet. Once I feel I have enough experience and speak it fluently, I will consider it. But this is not the time’ opined the actor.
Vijay recalls that a few years ago, he would have run away at the mere mention of the word ‘marriage’. However, he has come to love the concept of marriage and is now okay with it. ‘I love both the good and the bad aspects of marriage based on the experiences of others. I am now ready for marriage, but it won’t be for another couple of years. I hope for a happy married life’ said the actor.
Vijay’s co-star faced a lot of challenging times during the working of ‘Kushi’ because of health problems. Vijay said the team would have waited for Samantha for 10 years because there was no alternative for Samantha. ‘We had completed half of the film, when Samantha came out in the open about her illness. There is no alternative for Samantha. We were ready to wait for any long for her. In fact, we even discussed the idea of taking the story forward to 10 years. We wanted to show the evolution of the two characters over time’ concluded Vijay Devarakonda.
