I am not supporting Basavaraja Bommai for money says Sudeep

Sandalwood actor Sudeep has said that he is not supporting Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai for money and is supporting on humanitarian grounds.

Recently, there were rumours that Sudeep who is very close to CM Bommai and whom he calls as uncle, might join the Bharatiya Janatha Party. But the actor on Wednesday met the Chief Minister and pledged his support. Sudeep said that he wants to stay out of the politics, but supports Basavaraja Bommai as he stood with him in his toughest times.

Speaking about his decision to back Bommai, ‘Bharatiya Janatha Party has not invited me to the party, instead Bommai has invited me. So, I am supporting him. I will also be campaigning other candidates he suggests and not everybody. I am doing this because, he stood with me in my toughest times’ says Sudeep.

The actor says he has not come for the party, but for the individual. ‘I have friends and well wishers in all the parties. If they need my support, I will definitely be there. I don’t see which party they are from when it comes to friendship. I will support all who have stood with me in during hard times’ says Sudeep.

Sudeep confirms that he has no intention of joining politics or any party. ‘I am not joining politics or any party. I am happy doing films. I am also not here to make money. Many people from the industry owe me money. I don’t have the necessity to join politics to make money. I have come here only for Bommai’ confirms Sudeep.

When asked about contesting the forthcoming Assembly elections, ‘I have recently announced that I have finalized three films. So, there is no chance of contesting the elections’ concludes Sudeep.
