Upendra starrer ‘Kabzaa’ is all set to hit the screens on the 17th of March across the globe. Meanwhile, the actor has talked in length about his experiences about his latest release.
‘I had already done two films with R Chandru and know his working style. When he came to me with this story, I was really curious about how he will do this film as this is completely different from the other two. This is a movie with big budget and grand visuals. It was only after the photo shoot that I got confidence about the making. He had created a beautiful world and the production values were high. After this I completely surrendered to him. In fact, I am just an actor here and this is completely Chandru’s dream’ says Upendra.
The actor-director says this completely a technicians films and the actors have tried their best to make their dream a reality. ‘Right from the cinematographer to music director to the art department, everyone has given their best. People who have watched the trailer are in awe of it and I am getting calls from Delhi, Kolkatta and other places and people are anxiously waiting for the film’ says Upendra.
‘Kabzaa’ is Upendra’s big budget films till date. Not only in terms of budget, but the film took almost four years to release. Speaking about the film, ‘because of Corona and two lockdowns the film was delayed. I have acted in the film for more than 140 days. The film was mounted on a large scale. Everyday there used to be hundreds of people on sets. Many a times, I just acted in a couple of shots in a day. I used to come to sets in the morning and they used to call me in the afternoon. In spite of this, I enjoyed every moment of the film’ tells Upendra.
The actor says marketing plays a vital role in the success of a film. ‘The fate of the film is decided on the trailer. If the trailer is good then the marketing is easy. We really can’t sit and decide about the marketing of the film. First the cinema must talk. It the audience likes it, and then naturally the hype increases. So, our work should talk first and not us concludes Upendra. ‘Kabzaa’ is a PAN Indian film which stars Upendra, Sudeep, Shivarajkumar, Shriya Saran and others in prominent roles and is produced and directed by R Chandru.
