Ananth Nag and Diganth have shared screen many times in different avatars and irrespective of their roles and the fate of the films, their chemistry has always been lauded by critics as well as the audience. This week’s release ‘Thimmaiah & Thimmaiah’ portray them as a grandfather and grandson and like previous instances, the duo walk away with all the accolades.

The story of ‘Thimmaiah & Thimmaiah’ revolves around senior Thimayya, played by the veteran Anant Nag and the junior Thimayya aka Vinci played by Diganth. Vinci, who has failed in various business ventures, plans to settle down in life by marrying Soumya (Shubhra Aiyyappa) who in turn is thinking of shifting to Lisbon to start a sea food business. But before that, he gets the responsibility of taking caring of his grandfather for three months, whom he has not met in his life. The grandfather and grandson meet for the first time in 30 years and what happens next forms the crux of the film.

‘Thimmaiah and Thimmaiah’ is a classy film with family sentiments and bonding as its core. Director Sanjay Sharma doesn’t deviate from the main plot nor bring in commercial stuff unnecessary to entertain the audience. He is very prompt to his script. However, he could have done something about the length of the film. The film’s length is the main problem of the film and could have been trimmed easily. Apart from that, ‘Thimmaiah & Thimmaiah’ is a decent watch for the entire family.

It is Ananth Nag and Diganth who fill in energy to the film with their performances. Ananth Nag is seen in a never seen before avatar in this film and he stands out tall. Diganth and Aindrita Ray have also done their job well. The rest of the supporting cast has done their bit.

Anoop Seelin’s music and background score is another notable thing in the film to watch out. Balakrishna Thota has picturised the entire fill well in a class manner.
