Actress Vaibhavi Shandilya who is riding on the success of her latest film ‘Gaalipata 2’ says she doesn’t want to stick on to a particular role. Instead, wants to be known for her versatility.
Vaibhavi had played the role of Shwetha in the film. She was paired opposite ‘Golden Star’ Ganesh in the Yogaraj Bhatt directorial. In spite of stiff competition from other actors, Vaibhavi managed to woo the audience with her performance.
Vaibhavi says she is overwhelmed by the response she is getting for the film. ‘I watched ‘Gaalipata 2’ in Mumbai with my family. People had come in large numbers and they recognised me and spoke fondly. Many of them clicked selfies with me. Recently, I was shooting in Udupi and many recognised me as the ‘Gaalipata Girl’. I am thrilled to receive such a warm welcome for my comeback after ‘Raj Vishnu’. I am overwhelmed with all the love from the people of Karnataka’ says the Marathi based actress.
The actress also plays a female lead in Dhruva Sarja’s ‘Martin’ and this is her first PAN Indian film. Vaibhavi who has pinned a lot of hopes on the film says that the film is quite close to her in real life. ‘I play a bubbly girl and it’s a role very close to my real life’ says Vaibhavi.
Vaibhavi says that she wants to experiment with different characters and not restrict herself to few characters. ‘I want to play all kinds of roles and not restrict to a particular characters. I want to be a part of a horror films, women centric films and films which are larger than life. After ‘Gaalipata 2‘, I have been offered a handful of Kannada films. I will soon be announcing my next’ concludes Vaibhavi.
