It’s not much time since actor Siddu Mulimani turned hero with a love story called ‘Love You Muddu’. Now the actor is back with a new film called ‘Seat Edge’. This time it is a horror comedy with some thrills, chills and laughter.
‘Seat Edge’ is a contemporary story set in the age of YouTube and social media, where people do anything to get views and likes. The film tells the story of one such vlogger. YouTuber Siddu initially makes random videos, but people troll him. Determined to gain popularity, he decides to do ghost-hunting videos.
Siddu risks his life and goes to a haunted bungalow, where he experiences strange and scary incidents. It is said that no one who enters that bungalow comes back alive. So, does Siddu survive? Does his ghost-hunting succeed? Forms the crux of the film.
The movie has only a few characters and the makers try to entertain and scare the audience using them. The first half focuses more on comedy, while the real horror begins after the interval. The film moves forward by balancing humour and fear. There are many scenes that horror fans will enjoy. Most of the film is shot in an abandoned bungalow. As the climax approaches, the movie truly lives up to its title, making the audience sit on the edge of their seats.
Though the film relies on old horror tricks and includes an unnecessary duet song in the second half, horror lovers may enjoy ‘Seat Edge’ despite these flaws.
Girish Shivanna and Raghu Ramanakoppa provide good comedy, and Siddu supports them well. Ravishka Shetty has nothing much to do. Once again, Akash Parva’s background score strengthens the horror feel, and Deepak Kumar cinematography stands out.
