The shooting for Dhananjay starrer ‘Uttarakaanda’ has finally started after one and a half years of launch. Now actress and singer Chaitra Achar has come board and will be playing the role of Lacchi in the film.
‘Uttarakanda’ was launched in 2022. Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar came over as the chief guest of the occasion and sounded the clap for the first shot. Santhosh Anandaram, Vijay Kumar Kiragandur and others were present at the occasion.
Thought the film was launched, the shooting got delayed due to various reasons. Just when the team was ready and was about to start the shooting of the film, sandalwood actress Ramya who made a comeback to acting with the film after a decade long hiatus opted out of the film due to unavailability of dates.
The team was on the look out for another actress and Chaitra Achar has been roped in to play the role of Lacchi in the film. The team has not confirmed whether Chaitra will be replacing Ramya or would be doing a different character in the film.
‘Uttarakaanda’ is a tale of gangsters from the lands of the north and Dhananjay is said to be playing a gangster in this film. The film is being produced by Karthik Gowda and Yogi G Raj of KRG Studios and directed by Rohit Padaki.
Bollywood music composer Amit Trivedi will be composing the music for the film, while Advaitha Gurumurthy is the cinematographer.
