Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian 2’ to release in June

The shooting for Kamal Haasan starrer ‘Indian 2’ directed by Shankar has been concluded last year itself. The post-production of the film is in full progress and the fans of the actor and director were waiting for the film’s release date.

Now, the makers have officially announced that the film will be releasing in the month of June. The team has released a new poster of the film announcing the release of the film, but has not disclosed the exact date of the film.

The shooting for ‘Indian 2’ was launched in early 2019 and the team shot major portions of the film. The shooting was stopped after an unexpected accident that occurred on the sets in February 2019 resulting in the death of three crew members. The shooting was stopped due to Covid-19 followed by an issue between Shankar and Lyca Productions.

The issues between the producer and the director were resolved and the film was completed in 2023. Kamal Hassan has even completed his dubbing for the film and is busy with other projects. The post-production work is in progress and the teaser of the film is expected to be out in May.

‘Indian 2’ is the sequel to the blockbuster film which was released in 1996. The action thriller is written and directed by Shankar who also directed the original. The film stars Kamal Haasan, Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Agarwal, Bobby Simha, Samuthirakani and others in prominent roles.

Ratnavelu and Ravi Varman are handling the cinematography, while Aniruddh Ravichander is the music composer. The film is jointly produced by Allirajah Subaskaran and Udayanidhi Stalin under Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies.
