Ramya who made a comeback to acting with Dhananjay’s new film ‘Uttarakanda’ after a decade long hiatus has now opted out of the film due to unavailability of dates.
The actress took to Instagram to announce her decision. ‘I will not be working on ‘’Uttarakaanda’ due to unavailability of dates. (I’ve put my film and political commitments on hold). Wishing the team the very best’ wrote Ramya.
‘Uttarakanda’ was launched in 2022. Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar came over as the chief guest of the occasion and sounded the clap for the first shot. Santhosh Anandaram, Vijay Kumar Kiragandur and others were present at the occasion. However, the shooting got delayed due to various reasons. Recently, the team shared a news that it will be auditioning in northern part of Karnataka for artists in various age groups. Just when the actual shooting for the film was about to start, the lead actress has opted out of the film. Now the team has to finalise another actress for the role of Ramya.
‘Uttarakaanda’ is a tale of gangsters from the lands of the north and Dhananjay is said to be playing a gangster in this film. The film is being produced by Karthik Gowda and Yogi G Raj of KRG Studios and directed by Rohit Padaki.
This is the production house’s third film with Dhananjay after ‘Rathnan Prapancha’ and ‘Hoysala’ and second with Rohit after ‘Rathnan Prapancha. The film also stars Shivarajkumar and Diganth in prominent roles..
The film Charan Raj is the music composer, while Aravind Kashyap is the cinematographer.
