Actor Prithviraj who is looking forward for the release of his forthcoming film ‘Aadujeevitham – The Goat Life’ which is all set to release on the 28th of March across the World has said that he doesn’t want to walk away for the character of Najeeb in the film.
Prithviraj was speaking during a press meet as a part of promotional campaign of the film. Prithviraj along with director Blessy and co-actor Jimmy Jean Louis was in Bangalore to promote the film.
Speaking about the film, ‘the film has been in the making for the last 16 years. Talks about making the film first started 16 years back and the film was launched almost six years back. All the while, I have evolved a lot personally as well as professionally. Though it is the toughest film I made in my career, I am very glad to be a part of this project’ says Prithviraj Sukumaran.
The actor says he never met Najeeb on whose life the film is made. ‘Najeeb was always accessible. But I took a conscious decision to not to meet him because I wanted to recreate Najeeb who was in the script and not the real one. We had all the information about what all Najeeb underwent in the span of three years. The author Benyamin has in detail wrote about the sufferings of Najeeb in the book. I talked to Najeeb only on the last day of the shoot’ says Prithviraj.
Prithviraj says he and director Blessy took two decisions before working on the film. ‘We knew that we cannot recreate the book because it contained micro details about the life of Najeeb. If we had recreated that, then the film’s length would of 12 to 13 hours. The second point we had in mind was it was difficult to live up to the readers imagination exactly. So, we planned to bring the emotional journey of Najeeb from the book. Najeeb cried after seeing the film as everything came rushing to his memory. It was traumatic. Though I don’t say that we have exactly brought his emotional journey on the screen, we are very close’ says the actor.
Prithviraj says it is very difficult to walk away from the character of Najeeb and the story. ‘I have lived the character for more than 16 years and the character is etched in my subconscious mind. It is difficult to walk away from the character and I don’t want to walk away from the character also’ concludes Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Hombale Films releasing this much anticipated film in Karnataka.
