Karnataka’s popular production and distribution house KRG Studios headed by Karthik Gowda and Yogi G Raj has achieved a rare feat in the field of distribution. Ganesh starrer ‘Baanadariyalli’ which is all said to hit the screens on the 28th of September will be KRG Studios’ 100th film as a distributor.
With many seniors in the business finding it difficult to reach a ton in their lifetime, KRG Studios has distributed 100 films in a span of just six years and has created a record of sorts in the field of distribution.
Karthik Gowda and Yogi Raj who had worked as a executive producers in Hombale Films launched KRG Studios in 2017. The distribution house was launched on the auspicious day of Varamahalakshmi festival. ‘Operation Alamella’ directed by Simple Suni was KRG Studios’ first film as a distributor.
Slowly KRG went on to be one of the most wanted distribution houses in Karnataka and apart from distributing Kannada films, other languages films were also distributed by KRG Studios. Slowly, Karthik and Yogi ventured into production also with ‘Rathnan Prapancha’.
KRG Studios has so far distributed ‘Tarak’, ‘Phailwan’, ‘Ayushman Bhava’, ‘KGF 1 and 2’, ‘Kantara’, ‘Love Mocktail 2’, ‘777 Charlie’, ‘Badava Rascal’, ‘Vakeel Saab’, ‘Adipurush’, ‘Jailer’ and others. ‘Badava Rascal’ was their 50th film and now the distribution house has touched a century with ‘Baanadariyalli’.
Yogi G Raj says that this is a dream come true situation for the distribution house. ‘Without the support of Jayanna of Jayanna Films and Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films we could not have come this far. The first four years were a bit slow. We could distribute only 50 films in these four years because of Covid and other reasons. In the last two years we have distributed as many as 50 films. In the last nine months we have released more than 25 films. Without the support of our mentors, film makers and the media we could not have touched the milestone’ says Yogi.
To mark the occasion of reaching a milestone, KRG Studios has decided to distribute free 500 tickets of ‘Baanadariyalli’.
