Sandalwood actor Sudeep on Wednesday pledged his support to Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai and has said that he will not be contesting the forthcoming Assembly elections.
Recently, there were rumours that Sudeep who is very close to CM Bommai might join the Bharatiya Janatha Party on Wednesday. Sudeep calls Bommai fondly as Mama (uncle) and had met him personally and wished him, when Bommai became the Chief Minister of the state couple of years back.
Sudeep on Wedenesday met the Chief Minister and pledged his support. The actor said that he wants to stay out of the politics, but supports Basavaraja Bommai as he stood with him in his toughest times.
The Chief Minister confirmed that Sudeep doesn’t belong to any party. ‘Sudeep doesn’t belong to any political party. He has announced his support for me. His support for me also means that he is supporting the BJP’ said Bommai.
With Sudeep’s support, the ruling Bharatiya Janatha Party has got star power. The party wants to encash the popularity of Sudeep, who is the Darling of the Masses during the campaigning for the forthcoming Assembly elections to be held on May 10th in Karnataka.
