Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara’ which was a blockbuster when released in India last year is all set to be screened on the 17th of March at the United Nations.
Rishab is already in Geneva in Switzerland and will be watching the film along with the UN Council Members. ‘Kantara’ is the first Kannada film to be screened at the United Nations.
The actor-director will be speaking about the role of Indian Cinema’s role in fostering discussions on climate, environment and conservation at the UNHRC Session in Geneva. One of the highlights is post screening, Rishab will be addressing the gathering in Kannada and will be later taking part in a dinner with the UN dignitaries.
‘Kantara’ which was released on the 30th of September last year, completed a successful 100 day run in the box-office in the month of January. The film has completed a 100 day run in more than 35 theaters and the team recently celebrated the success of the film by felicitating artistes and technicians who have worked for the film.
‘Kantara’ is a PAN Indian film which was first released in Kannada and was later dubbed to other languages because of its popularity. The film is not only the most viewed film in Kannada, but also is one of the highest grossing films in Kannada till date.
The film is all about the Man versus Nature theme and stars Rishab Shetty, Sapthami Gowda, Pramod Shetty, Achyuth Kumar, Kishore and others in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Vijay Kumar Kiragandur under Hombale Films.
