Sandalwood actress Sapthami Gowda who is riding high on the success of her latest film ‘Kantara’, has been approached for the heroine’s role in Abhishek Ambarish starrer ‘Kaali’.
Director S Krishna who is directing the film confirms that Sapthami has indeed been approached for ‘Kaali’, but has not confirmed due to date issues. The director says he will soon be finalizing the heroine of the film.
If everything goes as expected, the shooting of ‘Kali’ should have started by now. However, due to the delay in the shooting of Abhishek’s second film ‘Bad Manners’, ‘Kali’ has also moved forward. The shooting of the last stage of the film ‘Bad Manners’ is going on and will be completed in a few days. After that, ‘Kaali’ is likely to be launched in a grand style.
The first look of ‘Kaali’ was released on Ambarish’s 71st birthday (29th May). ‘Kaali’ will be Abhishek’s third film as an actor after ‘Amar’ and ‘Bad Manners’. The film is a romantic period drama set in the 1990s in the backdrop of the Kaveri riots. The film is being produced by Krishna’s wife Swapna Krishna under RRR Motion Pictures banner.
‘Kaali’ is Krishna’s fourth film as a director after ‘Gajakesari’, ‘Hebbuli’ and ‘Phailwan’. Earlier, Krishna was supposed to direct a film for Puneeth Rajkumar. Krishna has shelved the project due to the sad demise of Puneeth and is now directing a film for Abhishek.
