Starring: Puneeth Rajkumar and Amoghavarsha

Puneeth Rajkumar’s ‘Gandhada Gudi’ has finally hit the screens today. The film is a nice treat to the entire family with a good message and a grand visual spectacle.

One thing to be noted before watching the film is, ‘Gandhada Gudi’ is not a routine commercial film or a typical Puneeth film. It’s a docudrama about the natural resources of Karnataka. Puneeth Rajkumar is a not a star in this film, but plays himself. The film shows the journey of Puneeth to various places of Karnataka along with wildlife photographer Amoghavarsha.

The film starts off with Puneeth and Amoghavarsha embarking on a remarkable journey to the inner land and not much explored places of Karnataka. The journey starts from Nagarahole forests and continues to Chamarajanagar the birth place of Puneeth’s father Dr Rajkumar. From there, Puneeth and Amoghavarsha travel to B R Hills, Coastal Karnataka, Deccan Region, Tungabhadra River, Malenadu and end their journey in the birthplace of Kaali river.

The two travel all these places as tourists and gives some vital information about the places, wild life, food habits, religious practices in different parts of Karnataka. The careers of Puneeth and Dr Rajkumar are also depicted in the film. Apart from this Puneeth along with his good sense of humour gives valuable messages throughout the film. The journey is not only a physical one, but towards the inward one and talks about the necessity to walk towards being a Universal Human amidst the nature.

The docudrama is 96 minutes in length and doesn’t bore or lag even for a single second. Thanks to great visuals by Prateek Shetty and a background music from Ajaneesh Lokanath.

‘Gandhada Gudi’ is one of the rarest films in India featuring a Superstar. It is a feel good cinema which inspires everybody. Watch it in theaters along with your family.
