50 cutouts of Dr Vishnuvardhan erected at Abhiman Studio

The fans of actor Dr Vishnuvardhan have created a record of sorts by erecting 50 cutouts of the late actor at his memorial in Abhiman Studio on the occasion of his birthday on September 18th.

It was Dr. Vishnuvardhan’s 73rd birthday on Sunday and the fans of the actor decided to celebrate in a grand style. The last couple of birthdays could not be celebrated grandly because of Covid-19. The fans had planned the birthday in a grand manner as this is the Golden Jubilee year of Dr Vishnuvardhan’s entry as a hero to Kannada cinema.

Though Vishnuvardhan made his debut with ‘Vamshavriksha’ which was released in 1971, he made his debut as a hero with ‘Nagarahavu’ the very next year. ‘Nagarahavu’ was released on the 29th of December and to mark this occasion, 50 fans of the late actor across the state had come forward to erect 50 cutouts at his memorial in Abhiman Studio in Bangalore. Each cutout was 40 feet in length and 25 lakhs were spent on the making of these cutouts. The cutouts were of the 50 famous films of Vishnuvardhan from ‘Nagarahavu’ to ‘Aptharakshaka’.

More than 20 thousand people across the state thronged the memorial on Sunday and celebrated the actor’s birthday. Many celebrities including actor Ramesh Bhatt and others visited the memorial and was a part of the celebrations.  Apart from the celebrations, many camps including blood donation camp were organized at the venue.
