It is quite common for movies to get sequels. But a television serial getting a sequel is quite new to Kannada. T N Seetharam has made such an effort and is back with the sequel of ‘Mayamruga.
‘Mayamruga’ was aired in Dooradarshana in the late 1990s. The serial went on to become a huge hit among the audiences and is considered as a cult classic in Kannada small screen. Now T N Seetharam along with P Sheshadri and Nagendra Shah is back with a sequel called ‘Matte Mayamruga’. The serial will be aired in Siri Kannada Channel from October 17th. Recently, the serial was launched in Bangalore.
T N Seetharam who is fondly known as TNS is of the opinion that there will be a lot of challenges with this serial. ‘When Sanjay Shinde of Siri Kannada serial brought his proposal, I was worried at first. Firstly, Many of our serial actors are now in different places. Moreover, the mindset of serial viewers has changed a lot in the recent years. Now the world is moving at a very fast pace. Relationships are undervalued. We have also changed when it comes to money. So, we are planning to tell the story of two generations in this tele serial’ says Seetharam.
The actors of ‘Mayamruga’ including Avinash, Malavika, Rajesh Nataranga, Veena Sundar, Lakshmi Chandrashekhar will be continuing with his serial. Along with this, many new characters have been added to tell the story to the young generation. The shooting of the serial has started and will be aired from third week of October.
