Kollywood actor Chiyaan Vikram who is looking forward for the release of his latest film ‘Cobra’ has said that cinema has no barriers and cannot be restricted to one language.
‘Cobra’ is all set to hit the screen on the 31st of August. Meanwhile, the actor along with the leading ladies of the film has been promoting the film in various cities of South India. Likewise, Vikram along with Srinidhi Shetty, Mrunalini Ravishankar and Meenakshi Govindarajan was in Bangalore to promote the film.
‘Cobra’ was first shot in Tamil and has been dubbed to Kannada and Telugu also. The film marks Vikram’s first film to be dubbed in Kannada. When asked about this, ‘Post Covid the scenario has changed a lot. A film cannot be big or small or has to be restricted for one language. The makers of ‘KGF’ have proved that if we aim high, we can reach our films to other languages also. Cinema has no language or barriers. It is itself a language’ said Vikram.

The actor sports a few getups in this film. ‘This is a psychological thriller, but has nothing to do with ‘Anniyan’. When director Ajay Jnanamuttu narrated the story to me, I was quite thrilled. A lot of effort has undergone for this film. Like my previous films, I had few getups in this film also, for which I had to sit for Make-up for hours. It used to take nearly five hours to apply and two hours to remove the make-up. As I am used to it and have done this before, I didn’t mind actually. What I found really challenging was not the different getups, but the different mannerisms, talking and walking styles of all the characters. It was really difficult to bring it on screen’ said Vikram.
‘Cobra’ is being produced by Lalith Kumar of Seven Screen Studio. The film stars cricketer Irfaan Pathan, K S Ravikumar, Roshan Matthew and others. A R Rahman has composed the music for the film.
