‘Golden Star’ Ganesh has proved that he is indeed the Golden star of Kannada cinema. After five consecutive flops, the actor has bounced back with his latest release ‘Gaalipata 2’.
The last few years have been bad for the actor. The actor has not tasted a great success in the last five years. In 2017, Ganesh starrer ‘Mugulu Nage’ and ‘Chamak’ were average at the box-office, with producers not suffering much. After that five of Ganesh’s films including ‘Orange’, ‘99’, ‘Gimmick’, ‘Geetha’ and ‘Sakath’ were consecutive flops.
The producers of these films have made thin profits, but the films were written off as failures at the box-office. Ganesh wanted a big success to bounce back and ‘Gaalipata 2’ has given him the much needed success.
Ganesh starrer ‘Gaalipata 2’ being directed by Yogaraj Bhatt was released on 12th August in Karnataka and overseas and is doing roaring business. The film got a good opening and is expected to have collected 20 plus crores in just four days and is marching ahead. In spite of competition from films like ‘Ravi Bopanna’, ‘Raksha Bandhan’ and ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’, ‘Gaalipata 2’ has managed to woo the audience, while the other three have proved to be disasters at the box-office.
Apart from being a success, Ganesh is getting good appreciation for his performance in the film. His comic timing and emotional scenes has been widely discussed in the last few days. The scene where in he cries in the car has proved what an actor Ganesh is. With all these, Ganesh has bounced back once again. ‘Gaalipata 2’ stars Ganesh, Diganth, ‘Lucia’ Pavan Kumar, Ananth Nag, Sharmila Mandre, Vaibhavi Shandilya, Nishvika Naidu, Rangayana Raghu and others in prominent roles.
The film is written and directed by Yogaraj Bhatt and is produced by Ramesh Reddy under Suraj Productions. Arjun Janya is the music director, while Santhosh Rai Pathaje is the cinematographer.
