Kannada, News

Srujan Lokesh who is busy judging reality shows in small screen, is back to big screen after a gap of three years. The actor’s last outing was ‘Ellidde Illi Tanaka’ and now Srujan is back with a new film called ‘Selfie Mummy Google Daddy’ which is all set to hit the screens this week.

‘SMGD’ stars Srujan Lokesh, Meghana Raj, Achyuth Kumar, Dattanna and others in prominent roles and is written and directed by Madhuchandra, who had earlier directed ‘Cyber Yugadol’, ‘Vascodagama’ and others.

This time Madhuchandra has based the film on some real life incidents and mainly talks about the mobile addiction among the current generation.

‘The young generation is very so much addicted to mobiles that they can’t keep them away. This is a common problem in every household and we are addressing it in an entertaining way. The film revolves around a family, where in the wife is so much obsessed with selfies, while the husband is with the work. How much does their children suffer forms the crux of the film’ says Madhuchandra.

The director says he has written the story based on the observations in the current situation. ‘The parents are not finding enough time to spend with their children due to various pressures. So, the children are becoming addicts to mobile and internet. We are trying to tell a solution to this problem through this film’ says Madhuchandra.

One of the highlights of the films is 80 likeminded parents who have faced similar problems have come together to produce the film. They have formed a production house called Akashabutti Cinemas and the film is being under the banner.

‘SMGD’ was completed before the Covid. However, due to uncertainties and confusions, the film was pushed further and will be releasing on the 13th of May across Karnataka.
