Raj B Shetty creates history at Chandanavana Critics Academy Awards

Actor-director Raj B Shetty has created a history of sorts by bagging three individual awards at the 03rd edition of the Chandanavana Film Critics Academy Awards presented by film journalists and critics for Kannada films every year.

The 03rd edition of the Chandanavana Film Critics Academy Awards was held at the Kalavadara Sangha in Bangalore on Saturday evening. A total of 23 Sandalwood film personalities shared the awards across 21 categories for films released in 2021. Many celebrities from Sandalwood witnessed the glittering event organized by film journalists.

Raj B Shetty bagged the Best Director, Best Actor and Best Screenplay for his film ‘Garuda Gamana Vrishaba Vamana’ which was one of the hit films of 2021. Ganavi Lakshman got the Best Actress for her performance in her debut film ‘Hero’. Aravind Kuplikar’s ‘Pukshatte Lifeu’ was adjudged the Best Film of the year.

Apart from ‘GGVV’ which bagged four awards in total, Darshan starrer ‘Robert’ also bagged four awards including the Best Music, Best Choreography awards. ‘Bhajarangi 2’, ‘Salaga’ and ‘Badava Rascal’ won three awards each.

13. Best Singer (Aagaaga Nenapaagutaale, Badava Rascal)

14. Best Singer (female), Girija Siddi (Tininga Mininga, Salaga)

15. Best Cinematography – Sudhakar Raj (Robert)

16. Best Dialogues – Maasti (Salaga)

17. Best Editing – Praveen Shriyan (Garuda Gamana Vrishaba Vahana)

18. Best Art Direction – Ravi Santehaiklu (Bhajarangi 2)
