Puneeth Rajkumar’s wife Ashwini on Tuesday received the Honorary Doctorate on behalf of her late husband from the University of Mysore.
Recently, Pro Hemanth Rao the Vice Chancellor of University of Mysore announced had announced that the late actor will be honored with a doctorate posthumously for his contribution to the field of cinema and for his philanthropic works. He had even met Ashwini at her residence in Bangalore and had invited for the ceremony.
According to that, Puneeth was conferred the Honorary Doctorate on March 22nd during the 102nd Convocation. Ashwini got emotional while receiving the doctorate. Puneeth’s brother Raghavendra Rajkumar and others members of the family were also present during the occasion.
Puneeth is the fourth from the family to have been conferred a honorary doctorate. Earlier, Puneeth’s father Dr Rajkumar, mother Parvathamma Rajkumar and brother Shivarajkumar were conferred honorary doctorates from various universities for their contribution to the field of cinema.
Dr Rajkumar was conferred the doctorate by Mysore University in 1976, Puneeth was conferred a doctorate from the same university after 46 years.
