Kannada author and activist Yogesh Master has created a record of sorts with a new film called ‘Ondanondu Kaladalli Obba Raja Idda’. It is a single artist film and Yogesh Master has portrayed 24 roles, which is the first of its kind in Kannada cinema.
Earlier, actor Harish Raj was seen in 16 roles in ‘Sri Satyanarayana’. Sadhu Kokila bettered it by acting in 17 roles in Manoranjan Ravichandran’s ‘Mugilpete’. Now Yogesh Master has broken the previous two records by acting in 24 roles. ‘Ondanondu Kaladalli Obba Raja Idda’ is an one man show with 24 different characters and all the roles are played by Yogesh Master himself.
‘OKORI’ is an experimental film based on a story called ‘Once There Was A King’ by Rabindranath Ragore. The film is a theatrical narration with celluloid techniques extracted from ‘Ekavyakthi Pradarshanagalu’ by Yogesh Master.
The film is designed and directed by Santhosh Kodenkeri. Talking about the film, ‘This is an experimental film made with 11 member team. We have not compromised in terms of quality. The film has already featured in many International Film Festivals and has won many awards’ says Santhosh.
Yogesh Master has written the lyrics and dialogues apart from composing music for the film. Jeevan Gowda is the cinematographer. Santhosh Kodenkeri has produced the film under his Drusti Productions.
