Veteran actress Bhargavi Narayan no more

Veteran theatre and film actress Bhargavi Narayan passed away at her residence on Monday night due to age related issues. She was 84 and leaves behind sons Prakash, Pradeep, Sudha and Sujatha Belawadi, granddaughters Samyuktha and Teju Belawadi.

Bhargavi Narayan who was interested in acting made her debut in Kalyan Kumar’s ‘Subbashastry’ which was released in 1967 and went on to act in many films including ‘Professor Huchchuraya’, ‘Eradu Kanasu’, ‘Pallavi Anu Pallavi’, ‘Baa Nalle Madhuchandrake’, ‘Rajkumara’ and others. Her last was Ramesh Aravind’s ‘Butterfly’ which is the remake of Hindi hit ‘Queen’. The film is yet to release.

Bhargavi was married to famous makeup artist Belavadi Nanjundaiah Narayana popularly known as Makeup Nani in theatre and film circles. Nani passed away a few years back due to age related issues.

Bhargavi Narayan worked as a Central Government employee and balanced work as well as acting. She was also a post graduate in English literature. She is the author of ‘Naa Kanda Nammavaru’ along with her autobiography ‘Naanu Bhargavi’.

The late actress’s eyes have already been donated on Monday night and her body would be donated to St. John’s Hospital as per her last wish.
