Veteran actress and former minister Dr Jayamala is all set to contest for the post of president in the forthcoming Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce elections.
The elections for KFCC are scheduled on the 31st of January and this time the presidential post is for the producer sector. Dr Jayamala had earlier served as the president of the KFCC from 2008 to 2020. She has the reputation of being the first women president of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce.
Recently, the past presidents of the including Basanth Kumar Patil, Sa Ra Govindu, N M Suresh, K V Chandrashekhar, S A Chinnegowda and others in a meeting has pledged support to the actress and wished her a huge victory in the forthcoming elections.
Apart from Dr Jayamala, past president Ba Ma Harish is also likely to contest for the post of president in the elections. The last date to file nomination is on the 15th of January 2026.
The elections will be conducted on the 31st of January at the Gururaja Kalyana Mantapa in Crescent Road and the results will be announced on the same night. The swearing in ceremony will be held on the 01st of February at the KFCC building.
