Multilingual actress Ester Noronha has completed her first directorial film ‘The Vacant House’ and is looking forward for the release of the film. The first look teaser of the film was released recently and is getting good appreciation all over.
Meanwhile, Ester Noronha who also has written the story, screenplay and dialogues apart from directing, acting and singing for the film has shared her thoughts about the film.
Ester says, ‘The Vacant House’ is a film which started during the first lockdown. ‘We had shifted to our farm house by that time. A thought came over and I shared with my mother. She was thrilled with the idea and soon I started improvising it. I wrote the story and screenplay and I didn’t know that I would be directing it. As it was difficult for others to come out and direct the film, I took up the responsibility also. The film has been made simultaneously in Kannada and Konkani and my mother has produced the film under Janet Noronha Productions. This is the third film from out production’ says Ester.
Speaking more about the film, ‘the film has a philosophical touch also. The word vacant has a lot of feelings around it. There is anxiety, mystery, happiness, desperation and other emotions attached to it. It’s a mixture of many emotions tucked in the film. Though it is a love story, I would like to call it as a is a roller coaster of emotion’ says Ester Noronha.
Ester says what she sees around her is the inspiration for making this film. ‘Today’s complicated relationships, how people are taking emotions lightly, do we really mean the words we say, the changed human relationships are the inspiration for making this film. The imbalance in the society inspired me to do this film.
The actress turned director says it was not difficult to take up both the responsibilities. ‘If we love art as an art form then there would be no borders at all. I am basically a singer and it is not difficult for me to learn dancing. If our body reacts to the song, then it will be a dance. If we emote then it will be acting. If we love the art form as a whole, then there would be no difference. At the end of the day, it is one whole thing’ says the actress.
Ester says if something triggers like this in the future, she will continue doing more films. ‘I would love to do more films. If I give time to something, it should be worth my time and energy. If it is really worthy, then I would definitely do. I wont direct films for the sake of it’ concludes Ester Noronha.
‘The Vacant House’ stars Ester Noronha, Shreyas Chinga, Sandeep Malani and others in prominent roles.
