Chikkanna’s debut film as a hero ‘Upadhyaksha’ has finally been launched on Thursday. The launch was held at the Sri Banashankari Temple in Bangalore and Sadhu Kokila switched on the camera.
‘Upadhyaksha’ was announced a couple of years back. The song recording of the film was also started in the Arjun Janya Studios. Now the film is all set to go on floors from Friday.
One of the highlights is, the director has been changed. Earlier, Chandramohan was supposed to direct the film. Now Anil Kumar of ‘Kaneyadavara Bagge Prakatane’ and ‘Rambo 2’ has stepped into his shoes.
Anil says the film is sequel to Sharan starrer ‘Adhyaksha’ which was released in 2014. ”Upadhyaksha’ starts from where ‘Adhyaksha’ ends. That was a remake, but this is a straight subject. This is not a story by one writer, but many directors including Chandramohan, Tarun Sudhir, Nandakishore, Dr Soori and others have contributed for the story’ says Anil.
‘Upadhyaksha’ stars Ravishankar, Tabla Nani, Sadhu Kokila, Karisubbu, Dharmanna and others in prominent role. Malaika who is a known face in the small screen is the heroine. The film is being produced by Umapathi Srinivas Gowda of ‘Madagaja’ and ‘Robert’ fame under in a production house called D N Cinemas.
